Requirements profiles for printing templates

Cotton and PP bags

Templates:

Photos or photo-like images must be provided in TIFF or JPEG format (tif or jpg) with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi (1:1 scale).
Monochrome bitmaps or bitmaps with fonts require a minimum resolution of 300 dpi in the final format. For line drawings please provide true vector files (eps, ai, cdr without embedded bitmaps). To avoid problems of compatibility with fonts, all designs including type must include the associated font file. Please note there are 2 parts to a font file – the bitmap for viewing and the postscript for printing – and both must be included.
Where possible it is preferred that type matter is supplied as ‘outline paths’. (Please remember to save a version of the artwork in live fonts as well, as outline paths cannot be amended subsequently).
A jpg control file should be included.

Windows PC files:

CorelDraw X3 version 13 and CS5 documents can be processed. Images must be in CMYK mode and saved as EPS or TIFF. If possible, convert fonts into vectors or send the complete font files. Data can be sent by e-mail to info@igro.com.
Please always send a hard copy of the artwork by post as well as the digital format.

Films:
Screen printing film: positive, right reading. For shipment of artwork by mail, we assume no liability.

Process screen films (4c process films) have special requirements. These depend on the material to be printed, on the subject etc. and on machine parameters and should only be made by an experienced high-end separator. Tonal value increase, screen angling and dot size cannot be called as a general reference. As 4c-process screen making is very complex, we recommend you let us provide this service for you. Charges apply.

For 4c films supplied by the customer no warranty is given on colour accuracy.

Not every subject is in 4c process printable. This is related to that in 4c process – contrary to popular belief – not all colours can be reproduced. Optimum results are achieved on white, good results on light-natural-coloured material. A 4c process printing on coloured ground is not possible. If printed on coloured background, a white backing of the entire subject may be necessary.

Film for spot print:
Spot colour printing is a method of specifying and printing colours in which each colour is printed with its own ink. Each specified ink colour will be assigned with a Pantone number. Please assign Pantone numbers for the spot colours used in your art file. Note: We are using Pantone Solid Coated system swatch for non-woven PP and cotton bags.

Lith films:
All colours, without over or under filling, have to be precisely recessed mutually, colour-separated and opaque. If printed on coloured background, a white backing of the entire subject may be necessary. For this, a white film is to be created, which must be under-filled 1/10 to 2/10 mm.

Maximum print size *:

  • 38 x 42 cm pocket size = 28 x 30 cm
  • 22 x 26 cm pocket size = 18 x 19 cm

* Applies to print in Germany only

Please specify the exact art size if the provided art file is not in the size you would like to output. The print position “centered” is used as our default. Please specify the print position when you wish to print the artwork off center.

Multicolour printing on PP only upon request.

Note:
Optimal results can be achieved when you supply your artwork together with a binding colour proof. Without proof we can accept no liability for colour differences!

Artwork Information and Guidelines
High quality artwork supplied to us enables us to reproduce the best possible print quality. There are several things that you can do to receive a fast proof. Please convert all artwork text to curves/outlines. Resize all artwork to the required print area for the lighter you have chosen. For single colour set the colour to black (1-bit). Please provide a separate pantone reference for the colour. For two or more colour work, separate the colours and save them as black. For colour reference please provide a jpeg/pdf colour picture or printout along with your vector file.

Please supply the printing documents to us in the form of a file. Photos or photo-like images must be in TIFF or JPEG format (ending in .tif or.jpg) with a resolution of at least 150 dpi available in 1:1 scale. The minimum line width is 0.1 mm for screen printing.

Screen printing film: positive, right reading. 1 film for each colour in multi-colour printing. The outlines should be sharp and clean. Process screen films are to be laid out on a 36-grid at the most. The films must be 1:1 and lined up. 4c grid prints can only be processed by artworks.

Adhesive labels:
Only one label can be stuck onto the complete shell of a cigarette lighter. Ideal for photos, illustrations or campaign subjects. Alternatives to the conventional label are the “No Label Look” or the structure label “TouchMe!” which can be felt.

Windows files:
Corel-Draw X3 version 13 and Illustrator CS5-documents can be processed. Images must be stored in CMYK mode and as EPS or TIFF. Convert fontss into vectors, if possible, or supply them. Send data by e-mail to info@igro.com.

Important note:
We assume no liability for printing errors, which occur due to non-compliance with our policies.
Work on faulty files, which must be modified, or incidental author corrections will be charged extra.
